Procedures Performed by Dr. Temi Foster

  • Bravo pH studies

Bravo pH monitoring is a capsule-based, patient-friendly test for identifying the presence of acid reflux. Information is collected over multiple days, which allows the doctor to evaluate reflux symptoms by determining the frequency and duration of acid flowing back up into the esophagus. The test is used to confirm if the patient’s symptoms are caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

  • Capsule Endoscopy

Capsule Endoscopy with PillCam video capsule enables your doctor to examine your entire small intestine. Your doctor will have you ingest a vitamin-pill sized video capsule, which has its own camera and light source. During the 8 hour exam, you are free to move about. While the video capsule travels through your body, it sends images to the data recorder you will wear on a waist belt. Afterwards your doctor will view the images on a video monitor. That afternoon, you will and have the monitor removed.

  • Colonoscopy

A flexible video endoscope is inserted into the rectum to examine the entire large bowel. The endoscopist has the ability to biopsy and remove small lesions. Sedation is used for the comfort of the patient. Learn more about colorectal cancer screening here.

  • EGD – (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy)

A flexible video endoscope is inserted through the mouth to examine the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Sedation is used for the comfort of the patient.

  • Esophageal Dilation

A procedure that dilates, or stretches, an area of the esophagus. This procedure is used to provide relief from symptoms caused by narrowed esophogeal walls, such as difficulty swallowing.

  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

A thin, flexible tube called a sigmoidoscope is inserted into the rectum to examine the lining of the rectum and the lower part of the colon.

  • Hemorrhoid Banding

A latex band is placed around the base of a symptomatic hemorrhoid. This is the most common and effective non-surgical hemorrhoid removal treatment in use today. It can be performed in as little as 60 seconds and is 99.1% effective. Learn more about this procedure.

  • Orbera Intra Gastric Balloon

The Orbera® Managed Weight Loss Program is a unique weight loss system that is ideal for those looking for a safe, non-surgical weight loss tool. It involves the use of a soft expandable balloon coupled with a comprehensive support program to help realize your weight loss goals.
